Our main objective is the free distribution of Islamic literature, namely the Holy Quran in various translated languages. We do this by raising funds from the general public. We have been a registered charity in the UK since 2010.

We hope you know that Al Quran Academy London is an extremely responsible and trustworthy organisation, especially when it comes to dealing with the personal data of our donors. We never sell, rent or trade your data with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. We don’t really need to either. We really hope you believe us but if you have any doubts in your mind, this Privacy Policy has extensive information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we might use that information, the limited conditions under which we might have to disclose it to others and how we keep it protected. Our website uses cookies to collect information.  Cookies are small files that contain information about the browsing and purchasing behaviour of visitors to our website.  This information includes things like pages viewed, products purchased and the visitor’s journey throughout our website. Data from donations

If you have made a donation through our website using the third-party provider, Justgiving, you can see what information they keep by looking at their privacy notice. We do not have access to any personal information that you give to Justgiving when you make a donation through their service.

Data from downloads

As part of the registration process to download our Quran from our website, we collect personal information from the downloader. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to keep a record of who has downloaded our file and from which region to help us with our own analytics; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information such as a replacement file; to check our records are right and ensure that we can assist you efficiently in the case of a query with the file you have downloaded; to keep you updated about our organisation’s activities via an email newsletter. As mentioned before, we don’t rent or trade email lists or any of your personal data with other organisations and businesses.

Mailing lists

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer, Khayrul Hasan.
